These terms govern your use of Alfie (alfieanswers.com), a SaaS chatbot operated by [PLACEHOLDER — legal entity, e.g. Peter Hutchinson trading as Alfie] ("Alfie", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
Alfie is a multi-tenant AI receptionist service for local service businesses. We provide a web admin, an embeddable website widget, and a WhatsApp Business integration. The chatbot uses Anthropic's Claude AI model to reply to your customers based on the configuration you provide.
We may change, add, or remove features at any time. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes that affect existing functionality.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a binding contract. You must be using the service for a legitimate UK or international window-cleaning (or related cleaning) business.
We use email-based magic-link sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure. If your email is compromised, your Alfie account is compromised — tell us immediately and we will help you reset.
Access to Alfie is on a monthly subscription. Current pricing is shown at alfieanswers.com. Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless you cancel before the next billing date. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and we do not refund partial months unless required by law.
We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you do not accept the new pricing you may cancel before it takes effect.
You agree not to:
When end customers chat with your bot, you are the data controller and we are your processor under UK GDPR. You must:
Our privacy policy sets out how we, as your processor, handle end-customer data.
We do not guarantee that the bot will produce a specific response, will be available without interruption, or will be free from errors. Generative AI models change over time; replies may vary even for identical prompts.
We own the Alfie platform, including all source code, designs, prompts, and documentation. You own the content you put into Alfie — your price list, service-area configuration, custom instructions, conversation history, and leads.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use your content only as necessary to operate the service for you and to comply with law. We do not use your content to train any AI model, and we do not share it with other tenants.
If you give us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the product without compensation to you.
You can cancel at any time from your admin. We can suspend or terminate your account, with notice where reasonable, if you:
On termination, we will retain your data per the retention rules in our privacy policy. You can export your leads from the admin before cancelling.
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement). We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these terms (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) is capped at the total fees you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, lost profits, lost data, or lost business opportunities.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claim arising from (a) your use of the service in breach of these terms, (b) the content you configure the bot to send, including any quotes, commitments, or claims your bot makes to end customers, or (c) your failure to comply with UK GDPR or Meta's WhatsApp policies in your use of the service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to subscribers by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect our intellectual property.
